The location, just off the freeway, offers easy access to the parking garage and valet services. It’s conveniently situated—not too close to the bustling city center but also away from less desirable areas. I felt safe overall, though I’d still exercise caution at night.
Room Experience:
The room was nothing short of luxurious. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and exuded sophistication. The highlight for me was the massive rainfall shower, complemented by a stunning stained-glass red accent wall. This detail created a relaxing and almost ethereal vibe during evening showers.
Dining Options:
The dining experience at MGM Grand Detroit is impressive, with a variety of excellent restaurants to choose from. While I do miss the buffet they used to have, the current options still deliver. D.PRIME Steakhouse stands out for its premium offerings, and the Detroit Central Market provides diverse and casual choices. Whether you’re in the mood for a fine-dining experience or something more laid-back, you’ll find something to satisfy your taste.
Casino & Entertainment:
The MGM Grand Detroit offers more than just a casino—it’s a hub of entertainment. From the excitement of the high-limit gaming rooms to unique activities like virtual Top Golf, there’s plenty to keep you engaged. Live entertainment events also add to the vibrant atmosphere, offering a mix of free and low-cost options for guests. Though smoking cigars is no longer allowed, the environment remains lively and enjoyable.
Amenities & Facilities:
While I didn’t visit the spa personally, I’ve heard it’s a standout feature. The IMMERSE Spa offers a 20,000-square-foot space dedicated to relaxation, with a variety of treatments designed to help you unwind after a long day. For those looking to stay active, there’s a state-of-the-art fitness center and a beautifully maintained indoor pool.
Customer Service:
The staff at MGM Grand Detroit were friendly and accommodating. From the security team to the front desk and service staff, everyone contributed to a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
Pricing & Value:
For the level of luxury and service provided, I believe you get great value for your money at the MGM Grand Detroit. I’ve stayed at pricier hotels that didn’t compare in terms of quality. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d confidently rate this an 8 for overall value.
Neighborhood and Location:
The location is ideal—away from crime and city drama yet close enough to access Detroit’s attractions easily. It strikes the perfect balance for a relaxing stay while remaining convenient for exploring the area.
